When you are hiking, you can see a lot of interesting details around you, since you move not so fast as when you are traveling by car or a train, or by a plane. On the other hand, you cannot visit several countries, because your speed is not more than 40 kilometers a day. Moreover, when hiking, you have to carry your things yourself.
