I wonder to know is there any difference between the words "Killer" and "Murderer". In our days the word "killer" sounds like a proffession, but this term was introduced long ago.---
Good question.
For me, a murderer is anyone who kills a human being without legal justification. That is, anyone who has committed a homocide. I know there are people who believe "meat is murder," but the word is not classified in the dictionary as including animals.
A killer is anyone who kills. Period. Human or aniimal.
A killer may be legally justified or not. On a local S.W.A.T. Team, one of the officers (also a "professional") might be referred to as "The Killer," though it was in the "line of duty" and completely justified. A professional, or criminal murderer, would be a killer too.
A hunter and a farmer are killers in the strict sense of the word. Thus, killer can have a positive or negative connotation, while murderer is negative.
there is a word 'painkiller' and it is a good thing, but I think that 'painmurderer' would sound a bit strange 🙂
You can kill the time, but
sb might murder someone and it is generally a human being.
But one can murder a language! I can see now, language is a living being.
By the way, there is an another word, assassin. It seems to me that assassin is someone who kills for money reasons. But maybe I'm wrong...
You can also murder food - I could murder a jam butty!
Contract killer, hitman.
Herr Schraubenkopf
How can you murder a food?
Can you assassin a food?
Dose food can murder you?
OK! I know! I can assassin a salad for free!
"Assassination of salad" - I think it'd be a good name for some rock band 🙂
