Мы знаем, что определители зовутся modifiers. И включают они простые (determiners: a, the, these, some, no. ) и крутые (qualifiers: very, quite, nice, … и места тут не хватит всем ). How do they define them? И почему столь разные слова попали в один класс? Кратко- из-за их строгости в порядке слов (определяет оно соседа слева, справа или вообще не соседа? ) Как их подвести под одно традиционное определение? Но они трудятся… стараются. Н-р, Майерс описывает Dangling Modifiers and Squinting Modifiers.

В словаре дается, что эти слова обозначают одно и то же. А вот само пояснение"a word or phrase that qualifies the sense of another word; for example, the noun alarm is a modifier of clock in alarm clock and the phrase every day is an adverbial modifier of walks in he walks every day"еще есть adverbial modifier, котрое является обстоятельством. то есть по сути я так понимаю, что это слово-определение главного слова.
