I have recently read an outstanding book written by two famous Russian / Soviet authors Ilya Ilf and Evgeny Petrov. The book is called The Twelve Chairs. This novel already became a pearl of Russian literature. Its brilliant humour, well-portrayed characters and such an extraordinarily twisted story will make you want to read it till the end, without putting the book down once. The plot is centered on two rogues pursuing the treasures hidden in one of the twelve chairs that used to belong to Kisa Vorobyaninov's aunt. Kisa is one of the two main characters. The other one – Ostap Bender – is an embodiment of a brilliant mind obsessed with the wish to become rich quickly. On the way to their desired treasures, both of them undergo a lot of funny adventures.
