Для выполнения этого упражнения нужно использовать глагол to be в прошедшем времени Past Simple. Для единственного числа используется was, а для множественного were. В вопросительных предложениях was или were ставится перед подлежащим. Вот грамматически правильные варианты предложений с учетом всех подсказок:Where were they three days ago? They were in Moscow three days ago.
What trees were in the garden several years ago? Apple trees were in the garden several years ago.
Who was not at the institute on Saturday? Pete and John were not at the institute on Saturday.
