- Winter comes to our town early. Sometimes, at the end of November everything is already covered with snow. Lakes and rivers freeze. Strong cold winds often blow. Sometimes we have snowstorms. The days become shorter and shorter, and the nights get colder and colder. The sun occasionally comes out, but it doesn't bring any warmth at all.
- The thaw has begun. The snow is melting. There are puddles in the streets. There isn't a single cloud in the sky. There is the smell of spring in the air.
- What unsettled/changeable weather (it is/we're having)! It's been raining on and off during the week. Thick fog/mist is spreading/coming from the sea. Yesterday we got caught in a heavy shower, got soaked through and had to go back home.
- What a dull damp windy day! Every so often/occasionally it starts drizzling. In such weather, you don't feel like going out at all.
- In autumn the weather is usually wet. It often rains. Strong winds blow. The days are very grey. The sky is overcast. There's hardly any sun. Sometimes it gets very foggy at night.
