Climate — weather in a certain place during the long period of time. The climate has very important influence on plants, animals and people and differs in different parts of the world.
Russia the biggest country in the world. It is disposed in the huge territory from the coast of the Pacific Ocean to the center of Europe, and its climate in the north, the South, the East and the West differs. In the West, for example, climate usually soft and damp. At the same time the coldest place on the planet is in the north of Siberia whereas in the south of Russia there is a lot of a sunlight, and the heat can be really awful in the summer. Summer and winter temperatures various in Moscow, Omsk or Krasnoyarsk, in Volgograd or Rostov. In the Arctic temperature in the winter rather low. In a taiga zone long, severe winters and short summer. Between Black and Caspian by seas very much hot in the summer.
But recently the climate in our country very strongly changed, especially in its European part. Some scientists consider that in the world to become is hotter. If you compare temperature of the Moscow summer and winter at the beginning of the century and in its end, you will find out that temperature actually changed. Winters became warmer. Sometimes in January the small snowball drops out, and also there were winters when on the eve of New Year there was a rain (not snow!).
Many people say that so occurs because of greenhouse effect. You sometime heard about it? It occurs so: the sunlight gives us warmly. Some part of heat warms the atmosphere, some part of heat comes back to space. Today the air surrounding the earth became much warmer because heat can't return back to space. That is why temperatures of winter and summer in many places became higher. Within the last hundred years people made a lot of carbon dioxide. This gas in the atmosphere works as glass in a hotbed. He lets in heat, but doesn't allow a large number of heat to escape outside. So
that the atmosphere becomes warmer. From where carbon dioxide comes? People and animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. We make carbon dioxide when we burn subjects. Trees absorb gas from air and make oxygen, but for the last five years people cut down and burned a large number of rainforests. It means that remains a few trees and, certainly, a lot of carbon dioxide!.
As we see, the climate in various parts of the world gradually changes from year to year. These changes can be dangerous to our fragile planet which needs protection. To the earth millions of years, are much more senior, than people. We know a set of its secrets. But many still should be learned.
